Stage Fright (1950) - Hitchcock's cameo
Hitchcock's cameo in Stage Fright (1950) occurs about 38 minutes into the film. He walks past Eve Gill (Jane Wyman) and then turns to give her a funny look.
The Los Angeles Times reported in May 1949 that Hitchcock was considering an even more conspicuous cameo for the film:
Alfred Hitchcock is going to take a fling at buttons and bows, only it will be in the British manner. All his career, it seems, he has had a secret yen to impersonate a cockney in pearl button costume, and expects to fulfill that aspiration in a brief scene in "Stage Struck," starring Jane Wyman. The director always makes a token appearance in his pictures.[1]
